Spot Hazard In The Kitchen Worksheets

18 Year Old Birthday Card Text

11.28.2008 22.12.2008 MERRY CHRISTMAS MR. GREG TO PARTICIPATE WITHOUT WATER SPORTS EVENTS

First, the water has returned after a few days so all is well, however, thank those who sent us e-mail advice much appreciated.
Recently, we happened to watch two sporting events in Kampala very well organized and fun, we participated in a by spectators, other players from! Specify: a few weeks ago we went to watch a rugby tournament between teams to ten Ugandan and Kenyan mainly. Matt said that it was rugby at high level (Greg and I we trusted). E 'was great fun because the atmosphere was really relaxed, we were almost all the players who ended the match and together they danced, drank beer, ate burgers ... we were also accompanied by two friends Kenyans and therefore has created a bit 'of rivalry as to who support teams. In all this, Greg in the middle of the music and the casino has eaten his porridge, which I had brought from home, he cheered her up to his father with strictly dedicated to rugby shirt wearing, beer in hand and even managed to sleep in the stroller ... it was also the official photographer caught the picture that surely a better picture of the little boy in white thugs among blacks makes its effect. I appreciated, as it were, the "landscape" surrounding Matte has enjoyed a bit 'of rugby ... xcfgv hopefully be repeated occasions like that.
The other event is the last week and indeed the one and only protagonist was Matte who attended the Kampala marathon! Yes, it was an event organized by a telephone company that has as its predominant color of the yellow logo and had supplied all participants T-shirt, bib, hat, water bottle corporate colors and 11,000 people as "yellow" took to the streets of Kampala running on three routes: 42km, 21Km and 10Km. Matt has participated in along the 10 km! We are not able to get there and we arrived he had already finished (it was too fast) but the spectacle of a city in yellow was nice and especially the variety of people who took part: old people, children, professionals, fat, thin , whites, yellows, blacks ... a really nice mix and above all fun that families with children and fatties who have passed Matte however was very good getting the place in 6000 2000esimo who ran 10 km with a time of 57 minutes! (The one that won us scored 27 but that is because it is not a professional). The winner of the full marathon of 42km it took him about 2 hours and 45 ... an average of 20 km per hour! But even that is not here because he is a super professional ... but even here there was Greg and casino in the middle of the yellow and sweat was able to sleep ...! Of course, after celebrating his father runner!

Desmume Heartgold Problem

11:11:08

We are without running water in the house for a few days: apparently a fault in the line of pipes from the well that leads to our stock of 1000-liter tanks that have been depleted and no longer even get a drop of water from taps.
You realize the importance of things only when you fail, obvious phrase but never so true as in this case!
To get water for cooking, wash and wash the dishes at least (for now the clothes are piling up in the basket of dirty clothes) go to the source of school or hospital with the tanks. E 'therefore it must be a source manual hand pumps because the water came up from the pit and reach the surface.
In reality it is difficult to say GO to fill the tanks because they can not allow it, we are white and therefore, in addition to our workers, rather than to bring us water to our friends bring their small children of 4, 6 and 7 years ... with no little embarrassment on our part that we try to overcome the shame of giving candy to those who helped us. However this morning we are successful and I went with Greg in his arms on one side and a pair of 5-liter cans in the other hand ... made fun of me going to the hospital "you as an african lady ..!" The fact is I came back with one hand in the tank (and always Greg in his arms) walked sadly behind the girl who comes to clean that he had 4 of a tank in your hand! us white as usual, we want to or not, we are treated as princes.
We are among the few to have running water at home in the neighborhood. Do you think that everything in the village of Naggalama, a couple of miles from our compound, there are houses with running water. The electricity is, but no water at home (and we are 50 miles from the capital!).
So think positive and good to share a little 'people's lives and rediscover the value of things.
Now every drop of water we use we try to recycle as much as possible so we brush our teeth and hands by pouring water into the basin where Greg has done so then when the tub is almost full for the water use, water which mark the bottle of Greg the re-use for washing dishes, I'm looking for a way to recycle the water from the pasta after I drained ... we have 5-liter small tank and drain in no time! 30 gallons of water go away very fast and therefore we must do at least two rounds at the source in a day. If I think of when we have the water coming out the taps than they throw it away, how much waste without even realizing it, probably hundreds of liters per day for the sun everyday!
Try to notice: every time you wash your hands, you pull the toilet, you drink half a glass of water and the rest of the cast ...
We already recycled raw water from the tub of water for Greg, but now I think I will do a lot more attention to everything else. There seems to do a hard these days to do acrobatics to wash (especially Gregory that is not moving!) with the tank, to ration every drop of water but then we think that millions of people live that way forever and they do not miss anything and are often cleaner than us and therefore you can 'do, and without complaining too much.

How To Do A Naruto Demon Shuriken

CELEBRATE THE LIFE 10/30/2008 10:11:08

Uganda is in full celebration of victory for Obama but most Kenyans who live here. People say that their brother was elected, that will change everything, who knows maybe there will be even more jobs. In the Ugandan national newspaper was the poster as a tribute to Obama, our neighbor Kenya has it requested, it would hang in the house, has also purchased a Photo Obama says the original, at a banquet in the street. There are all kinds of shirts with the large face of Obama printed and written in very beautiful: change. There are teams of rugby shirts with the number printed on the back and instead of the name of the player it says Obama. There is already a song that says "Obama, Obama Obama Obama won ... ...
Perhaps this is happening in Italy, it seems a bit 'too much but who knows maybe he really can change anything?

ps:
we planted some 'vegetable ... we are trying to do the garden: for now they're growing zucchini and cucumbers, carrots, lettuce and tomatoes are still so small but not promising, onions, cabbage and spinach have lost there .. Will our heroes to become small farmers?? The question is rhetorical and the obvious answer ...

Abused In Main Stream Mowies

of kids UGANDA

M. is a friend of Mr. Greg, is ten years old and attends fifth grade of primary school mixed. It generally lesson from seven in the morning at 17 and sometimes freeze for up to eighteen to try out new songs and dances if there are events in sight. M. our lives in the same compound (the parents are on the staff of the girls' school), it is our neighbor.
M. the morning before going to school to wash the dishes and go to fill three tanks of water at source, when he returns from school often his task is to wash the floors. In these tasks, alternating with his cousin, more or less the same age, but unfortunately not in school, there is not enough money to pay school fees. A
M. allowed to come and play with me and Mr. Greg (his favorite pastime since we arrived) only when it has finished the housework, even during the weekend. If you do not obey the sticks come on the legs, and it has already happened.
J. fifteen years old, is our neighbor: he lives with his aunt and cousins. His family lives in another region. My aunt is a teacher in private school female in front of our house. J. broke the school last year because his family could no longer afford, he hopes to start next year the second class of secondary education. During this year "sabbatical" by the cousins \u200b\u200bof a 'year and a half and four years and eight months of the daughter of another teacher, kitchen, lava, grow ... and bring our children under the porch to play with Greg. We became friends and we talk a lot, after all we share many things ... our lives are similar with the only difference of 15 years and I do half of what she does! I ask much of our lives, says he did not wish to marry and have children "is nothing but trouble: her husband hits you, always want everything to be ready and you do not ever send money to on the family. " In his village of origin often girls of 12 or 13 years are given in marriage to older men, the agreements will take the father and should be countered. Gregory
while playing with all of them and loves them and they adore him ... I wonder if one day talk about how different their lives in games for now .. have fun and laugh a lot together, and that's it.

10/24/2008 THE MOST 'AND LESS

Here everything goes on as usual, we are in the school and close to final exams. Here in fact the school year runs from January to February and ends in December and is divided into three terms and so now we are running out so do not feel most of the college girls next to us up to sing Late in the evening (thankfully!), newspaper articles are very focused on the end of the year and how to prepare well for exams, it is better to eat, sleep .. etc. As a bit 'like us in June.
Matte's work at the hospital is going well: always around doing supervision in other villages or closed for hours in meetings eternal. ... But he is happy.
Me and Greg in these days of full dull rainy season we have to be very at home and also visits from friends are a bit 'bald (actually giving me some' relief from this new role of baby sitter ten children) because of bad weather. The pastimes of Mr. these days are: playing hide and seek, playing with the sticks (which are hidden in every corner of the house), look in the mirror leads to the entrance window, open all the cabinets to reach its height and spilling the contents (especially with all the cooking pots making a noise spectacular and very relaxing for the mom!), attached to electrical outlets and pull any cables at hand ... including the internet while we are connected already not working flawless but perhaps at this point because is not the phone company ...
In rare moments of leisure by Mr. Greg earthquake'm reading a book of which I share with you a few lines that I consider very interesting and maybe starting point for some reflection:
"According to the report of United Nations Development Program in 1998 (...)
The three richest people in the world have a fortune greater than the total GDP of the 48 poorest countries.
The wealth of 15 richest people in the world exceeds the GDP of all Sub-Saharan Africa.
heritage of the 32 richest people in the world exceeds the GDP of South Asian heritage
of the 84 richest people in the world exceeds the GDP of China with its billion two hundred million people!
Finally, the 225 largest fortunes in the world amounted to over one trillion dollars, a figure which corresponds annual income of 47% of the poorest people of the world population, that is two and a half billion people! "

Chicago Bars With Beer Pong

16:10:08 A NEW WAY TO TALK ABOUT AIDS

Some time ago we took advantage of another opportunity to go around the villages (all left to live is lost a bit 'of rural life!) and this time find a new way to make information on AIDS. Hospital Naggalama works with a local NGO (Mumy Mukono Multi-purpose Youth Organisation-www.mumyouganda.org) that carries out various activities including health education and the hospital collaborates in particular with HIV clinic. We have aggregated to a 'outlet during which volunteers Mumy went to villages to make HIV testing to people who presented themselves voluntarily and to raise awareness through songs and performances.
The day was well conducted: 13 on Saturday, leaving at the hospital with the machines, the selection time in half a day because it is usually the Saturday is the day where people go to farming (farmers there go every day but who has a different job can 'go to grow only on Saturdays, and all have at least a small field), therefore, usually in the morning, before 14, there is no one around or willing to listen.
We started with machines and we recovered several members of the organization along the way so much to cram into the car in a decade, including the giant drum with which they played a little later. After an hour
plenty of dirt road (during which, as usual, Greg was peacefully asleep) we reached the village that was our goal. We parked and unloaded a few things the construction of which the group needed. We were in front of the village health center, the second level, then the possibility of hospitalization. Matt and I we were amazed at the cleanliness and order that transpired at a glance, I also went to the toilet, which consisted of a latrine but overall did not stink not too much and above all there was a stick on the wall to which was attached to the toilet and out was a small tank full of water to wash your hands! However, we were amazed of cleaning equipment and looking around because we were surrounded by nature, more precisely, we were very close to the Mabira Forest, a primary forest that lies nearby. Looking up seemed to be in the middle of nowhere and lowering the generator could be seen giving the opportunity to have lights around the center and possibly a refrigerator. After settling
volunteers Mumy (people of different ages, social backgrounds, both male and female) dressed blacks skirt or pants and shirt of the association have a colored cloth hanging on two trees (and the scenery here is done!) and were positioned: they and the drum. They began to sing the anthem of Buganda (one of four kingdoms that make up Uganda and that corresponds to the area where we are) during which all the spectators stood up and with their hands on their hearts sang all together.
I finally started to songs about AIDS prevention, hygiene etc accompanied by drum and a few scene during which the audience laughed divertitissimo.
In Uganda, but also in Tanzania, the song or poems are used very much as communication and social health people, even the illiterate, so they can receive the message in an engaging and entertaining and maybe even a few easily remembered verse. It 'very frequent in the schools during any type of event to see and hear the school dance to the rhythm of songs that explain how to prevent malaria, talk about sexual abstinence against AIDS, teach basic hygiene
... The song and the drums are really here a fundamental part of people's lives, at all social levels and all ages.
So in our case the best way to pass an important message such as the prevention of AIDS is to sing and the boys Mumy seen three times a week to prepare and Saturday lend their voices to the service of this great cause.
about an hour after the show and received the due applause, we moved to another village, the most 'populous and near the main road, there we placed in front of a school. Within a classroom volunteers to Mumy and some nurses and laboratory technicians Naggalama Hospital performed the HIV test to those who had voluntarily made a card and fill in a few hours the results were ready and a couple of volunteers were trained and well prepared information and advice to those who asked especially to those who were given a positive result (at end of day 8 are positive results on sixty who have taken the test). The counseling is a key part of the accompaniment of the infected person, through the consultant is well prepared to explain in person what will meet, what are the next steps and checks to be addressed, is below the psychologically and explains the possibility of using of antiretroviral drugs and their effects etc.
While in school these delicate conversations took place outside the other volunteers were performing again in songs and in a drama about a couple of hours (a kind of theatrical performance) with costumes (very simple , that is) that staged a situation of daily life and the heart was obviously aware of the transmissibility of AIDS ... it was all in Luganda, we understood a little but have heard many many laughs and some succeed we also made us see the expressions and gestures of the actors. So a delicate subject but manages to keep them entertained and attentive many people leaving a message that will hopefully bring it home and send everyone in the family and among friends ... but who knows ...

INFO IN-FORM
In 2005 a ' survey of the Ministry of Health has estimated about 915.400 between adults and children affected by HIV / AIDS in Uganda.
The majority of infections was registered in Kampala and regions Central and North America, the majority in urban areas. In 2002, 6.2% of Uganda's total population was infected with HIV / AIDS resulting in a huge number of orphans.

(data www.aidsuganda.org)

must be admitted that much progress has been made and that prevention and awareness campaigns are having their fruit, although there are ongoing debates particularly strong connection with the campaign on abstinence sexual. In Uganda, however, is always cited as the country marked improvement in terms of the fight against AIDS.

one page is not sufficient to address such an issue that we are also informing us little by little while ... I tell our direct experiences .. you deepen ....;)

Where To Buy Sprint Spikes In Singapore

09/30/2008 19:09:08

We feel pretty people care for the environment and consumers (or at least we like to think so) and still wanting in Italy you can do: can be an environmentalist-nonconsumista-mangiatoredibiologico-
attentoaimarchiequiesolidali ....
here we were a bit 'crippled. Obviously, our origins and our ability to feed ourselves lead us more or less at home and thus to supply us in large malls and supermarkets in the capital where you will find almost everything that a western can serve. The problem that we face however is the choice responsible for the product, unfortunately, as regards the choice of brand variety is quite small in fact as we all imagine the supermarket shelves are crammed with African Nestle products but not all ... in fact the alternative to these marks are the products that South Africans have virtually the monopoly of everything that is not European or American.
European brand products (including Italian) often are inventories of stocked shelves of supermarkets where you daily and you can see from the very tight deadlines and the color of packages: often faded and worn. The rest is "proudly South African" as is highlighted on the packaging. This applies to food, appliances, clothing etc.. the situation is different with regard to purchases at the market where in addition to local products (fruits and vegetables) everything else is Chinese (toys, clothing, radio, new or used appliances, shoes ...).
A brand anywhere in the world we are facing is Bata (shoes), is in every major city and even in Sri Lanka we remember that the shoes were commonly called Bata ("I need a pair of bata", "beautiful your new bata ") ... had a local name, or better, but they were not used! The same applies here for Pampers disposable diapers, Only in rare cases, the diaper is called webs, more often they say "change the pampers the child", "your child wears Pampers?" (as a generic diaper, in fact here sometimes use the diapers or do not use them at all ).
As for good environmental practices in our daily life had entered the collection here ... unfortunately we are forgetting the fact the elimination of waste in most cases is this: are collected in sacks, you throw the bag in a hole deep enough in the garden, occasionally sets fire and it burns everything (including plastic!) So apart from the countless environmental damage I do not say that you breathe in the smell when someone burns around their waste.
Unfortunately there is still also an education environment which bring people to pay attention to where to throw litter and waste large and small every day. Straws, plastic and glass bottles, bags, caps, food packaging ... everything 'is that a hand is thrown to the ground. For us now it is a gesture unthinkable and we shudder every time when we are around and then I carry the waste of the day almost always in your pocket for 12-24 hours until they find a garbage, not always easy to find! But it must be said that a school send out the message of attention to maintaining clean sin then there are no rubbish bins.
Well in short, the good will of our pseudo environmentalists - pseudo acquistoprodottisolo responsible etc. is making room for a minimum essential attention ... hopefully not to lower our guard too!

ps
came the expected guests:
Gal, Lina, and Chicken ... The three hens and a chicken as you can see from the names ... so far have given us two eggs! physical

Is It Safe To Shower With Silver

DAILY REFLECTIONS ON ISSUES NEW' TO MR.GREG

News: Today takes nine months! They're popping up the first four teeth!
Making friends: Friendships widen and Mr. Greg is always new knowledge
... A few days ago we started teaching Italian a child who attends the school next to us that the Italian father (but not one has ever seen, therefore, know little of their language and culture), and mule, but all is called "Mzungu" (white) as we are called us.
the evening, after classes ended, comes close to our house and while Gregory passes from hand to hand all the students that if they fight me and Kathy try to exchange a few words in Italian. The
like, say, know a little of its origins and feel a bit 'with the whites ... This must be difficult for her to fit in, it's not big and great for us adults have become accustomed ... to imagine a child of ten years living in a college ...
Also new will come ... soon the regulars (or semi-fixed) in our house! We are preparing for their new ... a new room in the garden .. eh we are already gearing up for the chickens! We have built a wooden house that is being completed, the food has already been bought ... just missing them! We look forward to seeing Mr. Greg how it will behave with her new "friends" ...
New experiences: This week we had a "day out" with the hospital staff to go for vaccination in the villages. Two days a week, two nurses and midwives are in remote villages where there are hospital and health centers to carry out vaccinations in children and pregnant women, there is a policy attentive to this point of view. All vaccinations are done free of charge and are quite complete until the year of the life of every child ... is also widely publicized the importance of this intervention. We
partisan hospital and we walked along dirt roads (a little 'we were missing from Tanzania ...) surrounded by a bright green, lush vegetation contrasting with the red of the earth ... when we find ourselves in situations like this all the questions that Sometimes we say like "What are we doing here?" vanish and all the enthusiasm for this experience comes out and you reload of positive energy.
After an hour of shaking the whole way (during which Mr.Greg fell asleep ... as was used in belly) we arrived in a raduretta near a crumbling brick building ... soon we realized that it was a school from which children running out to bring the benches on which the nurses would support the equipment. Then they returned to their lessons in a room of an unfinished house with bricks, dirt floor, several holes in the walls, two or three benches and a blackboard. We have placed under a tree a short distance and gradually began to get mothers with small children, most coming from the fields where they had to cultivate land. In general, families are advised by a person who is in contact with the hospital (mobilizer) and agree on dates (usually once a month for the village), this gentleman is in the area and goes on to warn all concerned that the this day come the nurses to do the vaccinations, and so mothers can make an appointment to find.
First, while I was expecting the arrival of all, the midwife has chatted with the mothers present their concerns and special requests. Once you get a good number of people have begun to weigh the children hung on the scale attached to the tree branch. After that every mother with her medical folder, which distributes the hospital for every child, it was the nurse to write the weight, draw the child's growth chart and mark the date of the next visit, then you put all in a row the other nurse for vaccination. There were newborn babies, three months, nine and one year (these are the stages of vaccinations). While Matte resumed with the camera, photos, and was helped to weigh the children and I know Greg did with the other mothers and children communicate mostly with gestures and looking at each other ... it was nice to be a mother among mothers, sometimes with a baby is accepted in his arms better, you feel closer, not that far from reality, despite their skin color but obviously is always a surprise to see a child is white (and Greg it is a lot).
After about three hours had been vaccinated and visited 43 children, in a few minutes the area near the tree had been deserted, we collected the equipment inside a small cardboard box, put the benches in the school and got into the car ... everything is back as before we arrived, the tree, the silence in Italy ... think of how much stuff we need to vaccinate a child or pay him a visit ....

Otslist Liczba Monsters

15:09:08 HOSPITAL NAGGALAMA

Dear friends, we are here again!
today's chapter will introduce you to the hospital in the world Naggalama.
The Ugandan health system and ' divided between "Health center" of the I II III and IV level and then there are hospitals. The different levels differ in the type of services that are offered, for example in the centers of the level there is no 'the ward and that instead' available in other levels. There are public hospitals, private and private - non profit, and that 'we are in the hospital.
Hospital Naggalama and 'complete: there are shelves prenatal, postnatal, general ward (male and female), eye clinic, x-ray and ultrasound, emergency department, dental clinic and operating room for HIV and children large-scale works. The hospital and
'has 100 beds and e 'refer to a population of about 190,000 people with about 120 staff including doctors, nurses, midwives, support staff (cleaners and security). Being the only hospital in the county, is the center of reference for the sub-district health care. My role here and
'"Technical Advisor" said the most' common T / A that you can 'translate more' or less as a consultant.
Basically our project (CUAMM) provides for the sustainability of the management of the hospital.

The goal is to make sustainable and self-management from the perspective of both the hospital because the DHO (Diocesan Health Department) and a training of local staff, mainly managers and clinical staff (doctors, nurses and department managers) to ensure the hospital and financial support to enable the reorganization of the economic situation and thus achieve a balance struck by improved efficiency and better qualified staff.

ask any curiosity as well ... and we're still discovering all gradually
... Good work!
